Deception, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

When life overwhelms, brings new realms,
Of deep, dark, and deadly qualms,
When at fifteen, all you've seen,
Is enough to make you wish you'd never been,
When you enter your hell, an endless well,
Dragged underneath by each unseen swell,
When you've had enough, of hoping so much,
Just to see things wither at your touch,

Then you know,
Then you understand,
That when happiness doesn't go as planned,
When each new pain,
Has clear reception,
It's time to dive into deception,

Too clogged to cry, it's time to lie,
If that's what it takes just to get by,
Lie to yourself, lie to everyone else,
If it shoves those memories off the shelf,
To avoid roadkill, you develop a skill,
For bending others to your will,
With words received, and words believed,
A heap of weight is soon relieved,

What I know,
What I understand,
Is that happiness doesn't go as planned,
Each new pain,
Has clear reception,
I'm diving deeply into deception.
