The Redwood Is My Home

The wind was cold and fierce as it whipped through my hair

The sleet slapped my tender cheeks but I didn't care

I hurried through the forest to get out of this freezing
rain

To go out in this awful weather I must have been insane

My house is almost in sight, just around the bend

In the third column and the fourth from the end

You are right. It's the biggest in the forest Redwood tree

Of coarse I live in it. And it suits me to a tee.

You see I am a fairy with beautiful fragile wings

I have lived in castles with Barons and with Kings

But I prefer to live in the forest in a big tall tree

Because I love the forest and a tree suits me to a tee

Mrs.Squirrel has her apartment on the upper floor

She is raising her family there which numbers four

Under her is Mr. Woodpecker. His door is round and smooth

His nightly pecking music is for all to relax and to soothe

My small apartment in the tree is next down one floor

My twin flame fairy lives with me whom I so adore

In the basement live the gnomes. They care for the tree

Yes I live in this forest and this tree suits me to a tee.
