Just Words, by thndrhwk Subscribe to rss feed for thndrhwk

So I will make these words
Edited carefully,
Clumsily,
Searching for clarity
So you can read
What can't be understood.
Will you listen?

Look at me,
Tell me,
If I am an artist
Then where is the beauty,
And why can't I see it?
Put it in verse,
And my words tend to glow
But I've never glowed
And it's never showed.

But these are just words,
Confine it to words,
For words are just paper
And ink which shows
And if it is words
Then I can control it,
So let it be words
And then, will you read them?

Look at me,
Tell me,
If my words can please you
Then why does the paper
Do what I can't?
Put me in verse,
And people like me
But wordless, no one knows
And that is what shows.

So I will make words
Chosen so cautiously,
Effortlessly,
Searching for clarity,
So when you read
What can't be understood
Will you listen to me?

Look at me,
Tell me,
If these words are so brilliant
Then who is it writing
Is it really me?
My hands form the verse
But I can't trace the glow
I really don't know,
And it's time to go home...

These are just words
Just words, nothing more,
My words are just everything,
Things that don't show
But if it is words,
And I know I can write it,
Then will you see these words
And read them in me?

Tell me how to see it
For I can't believe it
The words and the praises
Can they all be lying?

I just want to see it,
I have to believe it.
But these are just words,
Nothing more.
