Sheltered, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

Sheltered,
Collapsing closely against you.
My whirling mind blanks,
My head surrenders to your chest.
Through the barrier of exhaustion,
I feel your heartbeat,
The base pulsating softly.
I exhale the poison heavily,
And breathe in clean, cold air,
Silently appreciative of the warmth you provide.
The wind throws reminders at me,
Worries whip at my hair,
But you kiss my cheek, my forehead, my neck,
And I discover oblivion.
The bus growls over the slope,
It's time for me to leave.
I cautiously consider the storm and frown,
But you turn me in your arms and hold me tightly,
Energising courage.
Words don't really matter,
I'm not really listening to what we say,
And later I'll never recall the exchange.
Then you shut up and kiss me as always,
The last shards of ice melt in the perfection.
An invisible force field blocks the storm,
As I turn and walk away.
