There were days filled with bitter tears
There were nights I was rocked to sleep by misery
There were days the hand of depression gripped my neck
There were nights that had not a star in the scenery

And then there were you

There were days couples kissing stabbed at my heart
There were nights I held a deep hate for what love does
There were days I asked why me
There were nights when I forgot what love was

And then there were you

There were days I felt I should never have loved at all
There were nights when with myself i raged war
There were days I wished for a damsel to offer my life for
There were nights I thought why believe in love anymore

And then there were you

There were days I almost lost my mind
There were nights I thought I‘d lost my mind
There are days I wonder where I’d be without you
There are nights I wonder what I’d do without you

And I’m so thankful in the end, there were you.
