Always Down, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

I'm lying here just wondering what it is that's slipping,
I throw the question mark,
But it doesn't land just keeps on flipping.
I'm not sure if it's time that softly dulls the crown,
But baby it's down,
It's always down.

I'm just lying on my bed ignoring grey skies,
My duvet smells of you and whispers with sighs,
But my mind twists thoughts that my head denies,
Until I stop thinking of you and turn to what is true.

Please don't start to test me like I might be made of air,
I can see your reasons,
But it should be enough to know that I care.
I'm not sure if it's the past that scribbles in your frown,
But baby it's down,
It's always down.

I don't know why you're swinging as though you're afraid,
That the feelings you're getting will have to be paid,
You should know there's no gravity being delayed,
But I can't say it to you, I don't know what to do.

Just for us to stand in these footprints were made,
Feels like you're tracing,
The faded ghost of every remembered blockade.
Don't push smiles underwater just to see if they'll drown,
'Cause baby it's down,
It's always down.
