Pain and Anguish, by Cherie Subscribe to rss feed for Cherie

One true thing:
I DO NOT HAVE PROBLEMS.

People walk around.
They stare at me,
As if in pain and anguish,
But my heart has truly
Never been trimmed.

I've been dressed.
Dressed into a goth costume
For my brain.
That's what they tell me
But I am nothing
Like they say I am.

However, at home I feel
The pain and anguish,
The stinging apprehension
That makes a terrifying
Yet invisible bruise in my head.

The pain and anguish that
I experience in high
Reluctance
Is an everlasting horror
Of what happened to you.

How you died in front of me,
How my teardrops died on your chest,
And how I tried, oh so hard,
To save your life.

But all along, I knew
That it was destined
For you to die.
It was destined for you to go into
Heaven
And enjoy what serves you there.

So the neighbors and the
Street people
Are right.
I am going through great stages
Of pain and anguish
That can never be stopped.
