You and Me Movie, by Anathema Subscribe to rss feed for Anathema

I think It's been years since your feet left the porch,
and walked you away into the sunlight.
my face crashing down while the glint of your smile
shined from the painted hood of the black car taking you
away.
so i walk back into a house with small rooms that seem much
bigger
when you're not here to chase away the stale air
with your bright laughter and your cheerful eyes.
i remember why, if for nothing at all,
the way your body took up space next to mine,
filled these chill blankets with passionate warmth.
Your hands splayed smoothly against the brass doornkob,
they fit perfectly against my rough cheek,
pulling my heart out as you pushed me away,
and you told me then it was time to leave.
even though i know you don't want to hurt me,
i've never lost you like this before.
and i remember exactly why i cry, if for nothing more,
the way you always kept me smiling so you'd never see me
sad,
and you always held my hand when i was lonely.
an empty feeling in my fingers, very new to me.
i try to shake away, lacing them tightly,
close to my chest, where you're in my heart.
but my hands aren't yours, and it's not the same,
my hands aren't warm.
though it won't be long, and i'll see you again,
it's too much to wait, the way i miss you,
the way i love you.
and it makes me realize,
it's nothing more than the way you feel in my arms,
the way your eyes touch my heart,
and the way i want you to stay with me,
until on and on is gone,
and time has passed away,
like a bad dream keeping us apart.
i'll be here waiting for you to return then,
and we'll say 'i love you',
kiss and be together,
and it will be like
the most romantic movie anyone has ever seen...
