What am I hanging onto?
This love I can’t stop feeling for you.
Well I know you’re the only one,
But were you always who you’ve become?
I’m giving but not getting enough,
I know that every road gets rough,
So I’ll contemplate this growing wall,
Hoping someday it will fall.

It’s time you learnt that I won’t always wait.
…_Standing here to hold you up,
…_Holding out an empty cup.
When I’m walking away it will be too late.
…_Don’t think I have the strength in me?
…_Maybe one day you will see.

// Sugar / poison, you choose,
My heart you sometimes misuse,
Though your love for me is sure baby.
Make a move, win or lose,
Distance is mine to refuse,
Because you know I won’t breathe for maybe. //

What am I still here for?
I guess I know you can offer more.
I’m still suffocating here,
How come, to you, that isn’t clear?
I’m giving all of me to you,
Even as I’m turning blue,
Conflicted by what you deprive,
Trying to keep my hope alive.

It’s time you learnt that I won’t always smile.
…_Elevating you pushes me down,
…_But you don’t even fight my frown.
Your promises only last a little while.
…_Don’t think I have the heart?
…_That assumption isn’t smart.

// Sugar / poison, you choose,
My heart you sometimes misuse,
Though your love for me is sure baby.
Make a move, win or lose,
Distance is mine to refuse,
Because you know I won’t breathe for maybe. //

Beat Maybe
        Beat Maybe
                  Beat Maybe
