Toxic Visions, by Anna Lorena Subscribe to rss feed for Anna Lorena

Absinthe

Emerald
Intoxication

Historic
Fascination

Laudanum

Induced psychosis
Falling to sleep
Filled with unnatural dreams
Paired with Absinthe
Drunk on dreams
Pulled into a world so strange
Only the dead live there
The dead
Those who walk around in opiate haze
Only half alive
Their conciousness filled with
Visions
Visions of the dark places of the mind
Dripping in poison

Symbol

There are no
There are no

Blank air
Spinning through a blanket of nothing
Spinning through the nothing of days
Days spent underground

Absinthe
Historic liquer consumed in small quantities
Drink so strong
Just a few bouts knock a man out
Something so small
Something so strong
Intoxicated by legend

Laudanum
Opiate- poison used as a tranquilizer and painkiller
Toxin used by some of the poets
Romantic poets
To induce their hallucigenic words
Visions strong and clear
Filled with the recessed thoughts of a supressed mind
Dying from poison for dreams
Living in nonreality

Absinthe and Laudanum
Intoxicated by legend
Living in nonreality
Dying in dreams that never existed
Giving the body what it doesn't want
What it doesn't need
Intoxicated by nonreality
Living in legend
Forgetting the reality of life
To chase a spectre
Into a spinning blade
