Leaking Boat, by Anna Lorena Subscribe to rss feed for Anna Lorena

Losing nothing,
Keeping hope.
Miles from nowhere
In a leaking boat.
No one around
To hear the cries-
Not resigned to die.

Keep in tempo
With the sea,
Drifting to nowhere
No place to be-
Hoping to find
The time to cry.

Where does the tide
Carry me?
How do I fight it
To be free?
Can our weak
Human form
Stand apart from it?

Not on our own
Can we be,
Separated
From Divinity,
Falling forever
To the sea,
Our souls to drown.

When we land
Once we fall,
We cannot tell
How it ends,
Having outward
Apearances
Of resignd hope.

The boat is sinking
Under us,
Wanting nothing-
Not to rush,
Leaving naught but
Our own mischance
For us to grasp.

Try to swim
Toward the sun,
Having struggles
Everyone.
Where does it end-
Heavenbound?
Or maybe otherwise.

Lifting arms
Pull us forth
From our haunted
Death in birth
Towards the light
That lasts all time-
Enfolds us dear
