Courtship, by Anna Lorena Subscribe to rss feed for Anna Lorena

I give you a spark
And you return to me a blaze-
I send you a bulb
And next I see a flower in full bloom-
I come to you with only a glimmer of hope
And in a moment find a bright new journey:
These are only the beginning.
I find myself sinking
But your hand pulls up my head-
I run from emotion
But you wait patiently with trust-
I hide within without understanding
But you wait outside the door for me to emerge:
These are only the beginning.
I speak harshly
So you let me alone for a while-
I push you away
So you allow me the space I've created-
I cry in a corner and blame you instead
So you wait for me to come to my senses:
These are only the beginning.
I sit in my darkness
You offer me your light-
I regret m stupid actions
You freely forgive my transgressions-
I crawl out of my shell ashamed
You open your arms for me to fall into them:
These are only the beginning.
I appologise in tears
You whipe them away and remind me you've forgiven-
I want to hide my face
You tip i up to look in my eyes-
I bury myself in your embrace
You hold me as long as I need:
These are only the beginning.
Magnify, Grow, Unveil
Help, Believe, Unlock
Time, Distance, Understand
Reveal, Enfold, Unabashed
Cleanse, Forgive, Unashamed
Love consists of all these here-
But these are only the beginning.
