Pull Away The Mask, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

Red zigzags hidden away,
Another grey sky, another day,
Can you tell me when to open my eyes?

Now there’s no one else to blame,
Another hole ripped out from my name,
And really, is it such a surprise?

//So pull away the mask, see who I really am,
Baby I’m so sorry that you ever gave a damn,
‘Cause I am nothing now, nothing you asked for,
So I’ll understand if you close the door.
In the end it’s all because,
I just wasn’t who you thought I was.//

Gravelled paths keep turning bends,
Wasting time until the day this ends,
Can you tell me when it's okay to breathe?

I’ll let shadows keep me warm,
Sacrifice my freedom to the storm,
But these words, are they what you believe?

//Hatred turns inwards, riots in my head,
Baby I am breathless, choked by your chains of lead,
And I am nothing now, nothing you asked for,
So I’ll understand if you ask for more.
In the end it’s all because,
I just wasn’t who I thought I was.//
