In Chains, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

I can’t press rewind,
  can’t change my mind,
time has already spoken.
  The shadows won’t tell,
    won’t break this spell,
I can’t fix what is broken.

//I boxed my heart and taped it shut,
put plasters over every cut,
started running through the rain,
just to find myself in chains.//

//Forbidden pulses start to kick,
babe, you know you make me sick,
I started at the stairs again,
just to find myself in chains.//

I’ve tried to grow,
  to take it slow,
ignored the gaping hole.
  But couldn’t hide,
    empty inside,
  just a talking doll.

//Thought by painting the pictures black,
our love wouldn’t come circling back,
turns out it’s winged, feathers of pain,
just to find myself in chains.//

//Melted the memories, froze the heat,
couldn’t make myself complete,
I poured each teardrop down the drain,
just to find myself in chains.//
