Leona's Poem, by Lisa Rodriguez Subscribe to rss feed for Lisa Rodriguez

Through you
my outstretched hand from heaven
holds the pen
with which you write.

Your eyes reflect mine.
Inside your soul resides my own.
You the string
And I the kite.

Tell them for me
who I was.
Tell them for you
Who you are.

Hold your beloved and
Feed each other dreams
Content but never sated.
Remember, he is the one
through years and lifetimes
for whom you've waited.

Sing to your babies the song I sang.
My voice left off where yours would start.
Rock them in your arms
My arms
For still I love them
With all my heart
Your heart.
