Richochets, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

I trip over the echoes
that resound within my heart,
reverberating with my pulse
and richocheting amongst the memories.
You and I,
a million montages torment me
and I am a prisoner,
rusting key in hand.
(This time I want you
to set me free.)
Love so strong
it shields us from a bitter storm
of opposal and lies,
a world that will never accept.
We endure.
Hatred that burns,
so furious at each other's inability
to keep holding on
or to learn to let go.
Acid words rain between us,
corrode at our cores.
It should be so simple;
I love you, you love me
but here we are
snatching precious hours
here and there
beneath the shade of lies.
(How I long for sunshine,
I hope you don't forget.)
