The past sets in, lightly caressing my heart
Music seeps through the skin to my soul
Swaying with hope, with loss
Wishes come to mind, missing you,
The worst choice is to let it,
Let it crawl from the soul
Into my pure, wrong skin.
Let it crawl into my head
To dissolve into my blood
And take over the sanity I held so tight
Floating with fear and shyness
Memories bubbling into my consciousness
Equally right and wrong
Feeling the hurt after weeks of happiness
First the release, no pressure
Turns into the loss,
Wanting something I could never have
I feel like it was just dropped
Left behind to nothing
Never to be seen or touched again
But the memory provokes a familiar want
A familiar feeling that wouldn't go away
No more materials to touch, smell, or read
Just images, and longing for You.
