So High, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

I wish I could run from the words in my head,
gasping for air, for the things that we've said,
chains 'round my ankles, a padlock of lead,
we never could say goodbye.

I wish I could erase all the memories inside,
faced with the silence, they've nowhere to hide,
reality's knocking, entry is denied,
we never could salvage the lie.

So high,
there's no oxygen at all.
So high,
and so very far to fall.
So high,
they can't even hear us call
but screw it, let's do it,
lay another brick on the wall.

I wish I could show you that there's a way out,
but though you're right there you cannot hear me shout,
can't see the colours through the layers of doubt,
we never could learn to let go.

I wish I could take away all of your pain,
give you all my sunshine and take all your rain,
wrap you up tightly so you won't bleed again,
we never could teach ourselves no.

So high,
there's no oxygen at all.
So high,
and so very far to fall.
So high,
they can't even hear us call
but screw it, let's do it,
lay another brick on the wall.

We never could face withdrawl from this addiction,
We never could bear these two worlds of confliction.
