Magic 8 Ball, by Gina Subscribe to rss feed for Gina

I asked the magical billiard ball a question
Hoping for nothing less than "Without a Doubt"
The ball answered me without hesitation
And that anticipated answer is now all I think about

Thank you, Magic 8 Ball
For tending my fire
You answered my pleading calls
And stoked my unfulfilled desires

This question concerned a heartstring
One that twangs for one forbidden
He makes every atom of me ring
Yet my yearning remains unbidden

Just an absurd notion
In my smitten head
That he talks of me with elation
As I do of him instead

Instead of going back
To my trials and suffering
Why can't I stay and slack
In the time with him dancing

Those moments so simple yet profound
I just want to live there for all time
I want to close my eyes to what's all around
And live in those frozen moments I'm depicting in this
rhyme

Every smile you gave me
And every antic that caused me to return one
Are chasing around in my head relentlessly
And I fear will never leave me alone

I am glad you are not aware
Of these silly tricks of my mind
It would kill me if you ran away from there
And hid away for me to never find
