Decay, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

I watch your silhouette fade
as you break the promise you made
and once again I hear footsteps
as you're walking away.
Just another echo to haunt the years,
just another weight upon the pile of fears.

I've got an icicle spine
as you're scribbling each line
and once again the words scar
as we both decay.
Just another broken piece on the floor,
just another day darker than before.

So go,
leave me here
in the outlines you cut.
So go,
touch the door
and then slam it shut.

I'm refusing to fall
as you construct a new wall
and once again I'm left outside
to endure the fresh snow.
Just another friendship never meant to last,
just another shadow amongst my past.

There's cobwebs over my eyes
but honey I've realised
that once again for all my work
there's nothing to show.
Just another failure to prove I'm a doll,
just another mark upon the score for the toll.

So go,
leave me here
with your acid critques.
So go,
but you know
you're the one that's weak.

Couldn't breathe with all the space,
couldn't say it to my face,
couldn't even be bothered trying,
how ironic, now you're crying.
Couldn't see there could be light,
couldn't see I might be right,
fuck, it's not even worth it
when you think that you are perfect.

So go,
leave me here
with the shelter I've found.
So go,
take these words,
I know they won't make a sound.

But you're just another smile that I'm gonna regret,
you're just another person that I'm gonna forget.
