Dark Love, by Sweetz Subscribe to rss feed for Sweetz

At night after we make love we fall
asleep in each other's arms;
After a big fight, if we made up,
we'd hold each other till sleep claimed us;
After watching a movie, when the darkness takes hold,
he holds me, his arms wrapped around my body;
Even though when the day lights
up the world around us, our love wanes,
weakening in the cleansing power of the sun;
Every fear that during the night is
banished rises up to stand against us;
At night his arms comfort me and make
everything seem ok;
During the day we plan when we will
no longer be together;
In the dark our nightmares can
be chased away and are;
But during the day our nightmares
take a physical form in our reality;
At night he is my Prince Charming,
My Saviour, My Knight in Shining Armor;
Our love is strong in the darkness,
when the only light is from the stars and moon;
But when the light reaches our bed the
strength of our love is no more;
It is not strong enough to stand
against the light of reality.
The man of my dreams is no more under
the watchful eye of the sun.
Nothing escapes the light of day.
