Full Moon, by Annie B. SnowRaven Subscribe to rss feed for Annie B. SnowRaven

The moon is shining brightly outside. I don't know how to
describe it... Can't seem to find the right words...

Dad called mom, and mom called me. "Look outside!" She
yelled. And there it was, the full moon in front of me.
Simply taking over up there, in the night sky.

It was shining, spreading it's light through out the town.
As powerful as the sun at day light. It was... beautiful...

The silver stars sparkled around it, not able to be seen
behind the enchanting magic of the bright white light.

The clouds took shapes from underneath it. Sometimes
looking like a ship, a spaceship, a mouth trying to
swallow the white orb, or just a shape... like a small
hill that allowed the silver rays light it's mysterious
tops.

Or like the sea, it's dancing waves winking to the sun as
it sets. Hiding to sleep.

It was truly the most beautiful view I've ever seen!
A view I will never forget...

I love how you describe everything simply and honestly, in a way which feels like you're talking to me. This poem has a really awed feeling about it, and captures the effects of the beautiful moon. I'm honestly having some difficulty understanding why people haven't commented yet...

I love this!! One reason: I love the moon and stars! I completely admire your metaphors, similies, and personification!! I totally commend you for how descriptive and beautiful it is!!!

Hmmm... there's just somethign about this poem. Normally I can't stand them with such explicit meaning but this... I don't know, It just seems so honest and real - I really like that about it!
