sitting, grey within grey, lining,
forget, stay, lonely middle,
storming, yet no clouds,
mediocre at best,

no colors to fade, no feelings to blame,
once owned, now stained, willingly disabled,
a life lived, formulaic, benign,
locked securely behind its own wall

stay a stone, drenched in plain,
no light, no dark, only stale, 
complacently free, within weakness,
miserable, with silver lining
