Rising Sun, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

These shreds of heart
shouldn't push a pulse
any longer.
Broken palpitations
of a broken heart,
sound a drum roll
for my last breath.
I won't live
for the family
that doesn't understand me,
for the man
who will never truly love me,
or for the world
who never really liked me.
I would only strangle
on the dawn chorus.
I would only choke
on the morning dew.
Don't you cry for me
with your crimson tears
and your dirt stained words.
I would only fall
on the rising sun's rays.
