The Tangled Heart, by loving and dreaming. Subscribe to rss feed for loving and dreaming.

I find myself falling into the habit
of falling for every man who comes across my path.
A teasing remark has me engrossed, and once I'm turned,
There is no pulling me back.

Romantically hopeful.

The latest flavor of the week taunts me to no end.
He is an utter annoyance I wish to be rid of.
My heart sneers at me.
"You'll only wish for him to come back and bother you
again.
His absence reminds you of what you need."

That particular heart is one of the most selfish of its
kind.
Pulling, tugging.
She fancies one a day and another the next.
But she can't let go the ones she has 'forgotten'.
Pieces of them are caught in her web forever.
Waiting, hibernating,
for a certain sensory detail to let it float to the
surface.
And she has been captured again.

I want to let go the former flames of my soul.
Pluck the daisies' petals and let them flutter into the
sea.
But she'll be there.
Holding on.
Waiting still for a chance at some love.
