The Promise, by MorbidMaiden Subscribe to rss feed for MorbidMaiden

I can feel my humanity burning away,
A slave to the chaos, the madness inside.
I can't control this, make the sanity stay,
I can only watch whilst my soul starts to die.

These smiles are fake, so few can tell,
I'd rather just die but my grin's painted on.
I fake these emotions, the tears as well,
For the sake of a person who's long since passed on.

Don't ask who I promised, I no longer know,
The memories are repressed, under lock and key.
He begged me to stay, though I think I'd better go,
Before I infect those around me with my misery.

I can feel my humanity burning away,
A slave to the chaos, the madness inside.
I can't control this, make the sanity stay,
I can only watch whilst my soul starts to die.
