The Woman that I've Loved, by BUBBA Subscribe to rss feed for BUBBA

I lived with my heart
And I lived with my soul
I have once given my love
But it was so long ago
And now i know that all my memories
Are fading away just so
I say this last prayer
Just so that I will know
That all my empty nights
Wishing you were there with me
Thinking of where we've gone
And thinking where we'll be
I try to keep it to-gether
If only you could see
How empty my heart is
How much you meant to me

I have loved only one woman
And all she meant to me
How all my dreams have come and gone
We spent them with a glee
And so I close my eyes tonight
And i look up so high
I look upon the heavenly lights
Just trying not to cry

How we lived our life
No riches to our name
We did the best we could
We lived by god's game
I remember all the tragedies
And all the blessing the same
We made it through it all
Never yelling or giving blame
Proving to our family
That miracles do exist
Serving all the love we could
Just by a hug, and by a kiss

I have loved only one woman
And all she meant to me
How all my dreams have come and gone
We spent them with a glee
And so I close my eyes tonight
And i look up so high
I look upon the heavenly lights
Just trying not to cry

Its been so long ago now
When I remember the past
My momories have gone somehow
I thought that they would last
And I look to my children
No even knowing their name
Wondering when tomarrow comes
If it will be the same
I think of that woman
Who I see in my dreams
If only I could put a name
To the one who loved me.

I will only love one woman
And all she meant to me
How all my dreams have come and gone
We spent them with a glee
And so I close my eyes tonight
And i look up so high
Ask the lord to take me home
and I try not to cry.....

I think this poem deserves so much more than just a meager number such as nine!! This was amazingly written. The words flowed so well together and even though it was sad it was a pleasure to read.
