The first fight of the season, by BUBBA Subscribe to rss feed for BUBBA

It was a magical spring I saw
The road were dry the trails still raw
I could see the birds flappin their wings
The jay birds just starts to sing
And so I head up that windy trail
The new summer breeze I love that smell
Deer just walking ever so slow
The blackbirds just start to crow
I have a fishing pole and no care
Just keep on trucking all I can do is stare
I just look onto the river bed
just thinking of what my friend had said
"Keep it on the edge a far
The fish their as big as a car"
So i lay my bag on down
I just flop onto the ground
Running my line out through the waves
My heart a pounds fish I crave
The first cast of the season
Skipping work I did it for this reason
I just sit there on that rock
I feel a tug and my pole starts to knock
I start to reel on in to see
If only a biggie it could be
The fight is what i thrive for
I want it ever so more
And finally he comes on in
I string him up and start again
As the day winds to night
My family sits by the campfire light
We exchange our stories away
For tomarrow is another day.....
