"Silver of Light" / by Marsha L. VonderBrink, by marsha Subscribe to rss feed for marsha

Soft pine needles sprinkled on the ground
wind in the trees making a keening sound
swells of moss, carpeted a shreddy deep green
shade, hanging low, glistening the stream

trinkle of water in the crystal brook
clear with deep cold touching the edges
silver of light peeking through each tree
touching the flowers, hung heavy with dew

deep purple and violet, mauve and blue
burnt rich orange and striking reds too
pale lavender and sour lemon yellow,
bright scarlet tinged petals, flags, ferns

vines climb unheeded, spreading sin roots,
sheltering the growth, moss and brook,
feather trees like clouds, all pink and shiny,
firs scattering their skins, all soft and spiny!
