Origins of Guantanamo, by Imagine Subscribe to rss feed for Imagine

You talk smack,
I cant come back,
to beat you.

The Polish lost.
The Germans never exhaust.
The English paid the cost.
While America flossed.
Their teeth.

The French were there.
But had a scare.
And hid behind
The English's hair.

In the midst of the beast,
the Middle-East,
sat back and had a feast.
And toyed with their artiste,
for their knowledge increased,
by the Ages.

But whence this perturbo began,
the people of Japan,
bombed America's jam,
which splattered a tan,
and angered USA's forces
to the nation of Afghan.

Years and months come on by,
while the proud country of America vie,
for the dry dry,
deserts of Arabia.

Where there shoots out bountiless oil,
for the Arabians hard work and toil,
USA's anger reaches a boil,
and engenders a plan to foil,
them.

From this plan emerges Guantanamo,
where the US soldiers mercilessly tow,
those innocent foreigners whose only agenda was to flow,
and screamed out WHOA!
When they were dealt that deadly blow,
that nobody could overthrow,
and could only weep out their woe,
and tearfully mumble, "No.."

One thousand, one hundred, maybe thirty five,
Nobody knew who would survive,
or escape with their pulsating, thrumming, beating lives,
They would ask, "When would help finally arrive?"
And wake up in their cages everyday struggling to strive,
Who knew America would take that dive?
Of degrading themselves lower from their prideful beehive,
and corrupting themselves enough to violate Article 5*.

And now President Obama,
question(?) exclamation mark (!) comma (,)
in the midst bersmirching the madonna,
and having the intelligence of a llama,
orders to have Guantanamo closed in a year.

He must have not been thinking clear,
his decision making affected by a beer,
yet did he know how many a tear
would be shed in the heart-shattering fear
that everything those prisoners held dear,
was a world away from them and death so near?

One question, President, before your patience splits,
Did it take a whole year to close Auschwitz?
