We live on to accept things as they come by,
Seeing changes as they pass us by.
We live when we are three,
Pretending to be big people,
Pretending to be free
But reality strikes us
when we want that costly toy-
Which give way to vain tantrums.

We live when we are thirty,
Earning the power to buy the toy,
But losing the desire!
Now we yearn for childhood,
Back then we yearned for adulthood.

But though in words we may yearn,
All we do is strive to earn
More and more and more.
Maybe then one day we will look back and think
Wish I was thirty again and wish I did more than earn!
