The Late Afternoon (No Date), by LaLa Leo
|
In the late afternoon, I begin to see the moon
It rises high, way above the sky!
It is so beautiful and bountiful.
There is another object you must see, and this one living
organism is not a bee.
This organism is the mourning dove perched upon it's
cheerful cove.
I ask it everyday, "Why must you mourn that way!"
It never replies, it only cries.
Another sight you ought to see, is one of the places
everyone wants to be!
Upon the hilltop, no where near a shop
Watching the most beautiful sight, one that is very bright.
The sun must set sometime soon, if the moment isn't stolen
by a goon.
This is a sight that everyone can share, if you want to do
so pair by pair.
So as soon as you haer the call of the coon, it is
officially the late afternoon.
