                In A Pocket of time

           By Thomas Curtis

I was driving along the highway
My mind lost in a stream of endless white specks
A song comes on the radio
It’s a song from my youth heard many times
Now, once, twice scattered through the years
It was a pocket of loneliness
In a suit not often worn
It brought back places and feelings
Thought lost and forgotten
but nestled comfortably and safely
in the folds of memory
And when this window closes
The stream of white specks once again occupy my mind my exit
is miles behind me
