Punishment for Accidents, by BurnsLikeAThousandScars Subscribe to rss feed for BurnsLikeAThousandScars♥

Sweat rolls down my face
And my hands are shaking
My lips won’t stop bleeding
And my heart keeps breaking

I sit paralysed in shock
As though I’m under a spell
Punishment for accidents
Deemed to be cast into hell

Locked away in my room, alone
Hiding in the darkness from within
I wallow in pain from long ago
Remembering kisses that taste of sin

Drowning in these thoughts
They devour every smile
Hold my breath until its gone
So it won’t hurt me for a while

But soon it all returns
A memory slowly burns
And now another feeling
As though my skin is peeling
And so revealing what’s inside
I’ll have no where left to hide

Friends and family will turn their heads
And look the other way
Ignore my tears, pretending they don’t see
And only few will stay

Silently I weep in plain sight
Haunted by the past
Frightened by what’s to come
And what isn’t going to last
