I stand shivering on the porch
looking at you through the door
around the edges are signs of fires scorch
the looks in our eyes, begging for more

I cannot believe we are only
seperated by one sheet of glass
and the cause for feeling lonely
is only a door i cannot pass

I search for a key
within the snow and the cold
i feel your eyes on me
you see that in my hand i hold

the answer to our problem
a key gleaming in the starlight
the value of this key outweighs every precious gem
for it is whats needed to make this right

I turn suddenly, you are gone from the window
running through the snow i trip and fall
this cannot be, someone has beat me, i was to slow
for the door was never locked at all
