in the end
everything fell apart
the sunshine died
war errupted
and children were orphaned.
so many fight
trying to bring life to the world again
in the end, the warriors of truth fell
their swords of love broken in shards
dignity crumpled
hope buried.
so many remember "the good old days"
when we were happy, spirited, and free
freedom
something no longer possessed
instead, just remembered
we are all slaves now
to a power undefeated
forced to kill
"our call to duty."
is duty voluntary or conscripted?
we should not have to kill
for any reason other than food.
but now, people die
because of hate, revenge, and discrimination.
we need a liberator;
someone to put an end to this cruelty
a leader, a knight
our knight
my knight
save us from our own selves
protect us from the evil we've created
hear us cry.
in years to come
it will all return
everything that was lost
in the great war created by us
our sunlight will be revived
giving us the warmth we were robbed of
ending everything pain created
crumbled buildings are restored
mended hearts
refilled hope
and protected love
we didnt need a knight after all
someone to save us
we just needed to learn
how to save one another
help raise each other up
to happiness and joy
now we are as we once were
alive.
spirited once again.
in the end
it was only a new start
a revival of a life
lost
no
not lost
just forgotten and misplaced
locked away temporarily
now we are happy again.
warm.
and hopeful.
