The Forgotten Ones, by LostSoul Subscribe to rss feed for LostSoul

Why can’t we talk about it?
So much sadness
It’s contagious

Spreads like fire
Affecting everyone
And yet we ignore
The forgotten ones

Child’s on the street
With no food to eat
Mother crying
Cause she just got beat
Homeless man walking in bare feet
And so we stand there
Looking at the helpless
Thinking to ourselves it’s not our problem
It’ll go away on it’s own discretion

What we forget is that could be us
That could be your child
That could your family
That could be your friend
That could be you
That could be me
It could be the end
It could end

If only we’d choose to make a difference
Even for just one time
Just take a stand

So why aren't we doing something about it?? Great poem, why didn't I see it before?
