When The Leaf Fell From The Tree, by Tessa Subscribe to rss feed for Tessa

When the leaf fell from the tree
I cried myself to sleep
I prayed to the Lord that it’d be gone
But it has spread for far too long
Her shift has ended
My heart needs mended
One last breath and
She hit death

Years later
I lie awake
With an ache
That has taken all control
My savior told me
That soon I’d be
With the woman that had raised me
The time has come and
I feel numb
My shift has ended
My heart is mended
I took one last deep breath
As I lay to meet my death

I see her in the distance
It seems so real
A hug for a feel
My mother was always in my heart
Even when it fell apart
I feel no pain anymore
That I have found the one and only cure

When the leaf had fallen
So did my life
It seemed as though
My heart was stabbed with a knife
The pain I had and now no more
God had promised and was secure
It was meant to be when she left me
The mother and daughter bond is so strong
I love my mother and I will forever long
