Deceived By A Mate, by Robin Goodwin Subscribe to rss feed for Robin Goodwin

Who would have thought on the Falkland Islands,
Your right to property may not be that safe.
Especially when some you think are your mates,
Will sometimes try to ruin your life.

There’s plenty out there that think you are weak,
A potential target of their human greed.
They want to buy property you want to sell,
But their minds are set to do this dirty deed.

You offer to sell them a small plot of land,
Various assets are also included.
There is often assets you want to keep,
Which are listed that will be excluded.

The deed finally done documents change hands,
But you don’t know the buyers devious plan.
He’s just not happy with what he just bought,
Your retained items he will get if he can.

Having agreed to remove your retainable goods,
And start to dismantle what you had retained,
But as soon as you remove what is rightfully yours,
The Police are called in, the buyers complained.

You can’t take that, it’s mine he will shout,
You know that’s a lie it really does not.
But to prove your innocence of your just right,
You will end up in court that there’s no doubt.

It seems private arrangements are not worth the ink,
On the paper that it was all set out.
So be warned before you sell to a mate,
That there not always honest there is no doubt.
