Alone, by CherryFender Subscribe to rss feed for CherryFender

Hugging her knees into her chest
the blackness eats at her soul
taking who everyone thinks she is

But she knows the truth
she knows who she really is
this lonely girl
secluded in an emptiness

She's just an actress in this world
Her life is a play for them all
But backstage the act is dropped
Her costume and makeup just accessory

The sparkle, the shine
gone.
The black eyes, the tears,
here.
The poise, the confidence,
an act.
The hiding, the downtrodden,
all real.

She falls in love,
and what is she to do,
keep up her act?
Blind him with her smile?
She hopes not.
She wants to show the real her.

But is he loving the girl on stage?
Or the girl backstage?

Could he love the girl without the sparkle?
The real her, she's afraid to show.

Does he know her really?
She tries to bring him behind the curtain,
but she can't try to make him love,
if he doesn't want the girl backstage.
