Morning on the Shore, by Levina_Michelle Subscribe to rss feed for Levina_Michelle

Sitting on the beach
Trying to reach
Serenity
Seeing what the earth mother can teach

Silence is bliss
Something I often miss
Cold wind bites my ears and cheeks
But alas here comes the sun
To warm the leaks

The waves crash
White foam exploding like ash
So rough and rash
Yet calming and just a dash
Of relief

The nip of mother’s cold breath
Wraps around my bone
But the warmth of coffee and peeking sunlight
Hits my center
Creating a safe dome

The clouds so gray
Wrapped in gold and silver
Can never betray
On the contra’y
Send me into awe
And claw
At my vision
Screaming never turn away

The white tops of the ocean
Glow and beg of me to listen
To their tales of lost souls
Pleading to see what it beholds
As the wind blows
It seems odd that the sand refuses to fold
Ah, I spoke to soon
It appears the sun has banished
The dew from the dune
The small grains ban together
And hiss stay here
Forever

Alas though I cannot
As I come to the last drop
Of my warm coffee
It is time for me
To say fair well
To the beach that brings me such peace
For the inner beast
Is at rest once more
But in hopes that I may return
To caress
It with the bliss and beauty of times of yore
