THAW, by michelle hoult Subscribe to rss feed for michelle hoult

To see the blue of sky in such winters depths
The awe of nature felt
White clouds on the retreat
Is thaw on breast of wind?
The bellowing of winds soften

Is this a light relief
Are clouds reforming
This is a battled dawn
A slight wave of frozen pursuits

Now there is respect for nature
This is no accident
Blackening out of gestures
Snowed in fervour

Frost in translation
Frozen pains of glass are dripping
Choked roads melt
Impeded movement afoot

Tiptoe around not halting
Luring thaw surfaces
Elaborate shapes and spaces
We respect
