Reaper, by crazyanimelover Subscribe to rss feed for crazyanimelover

The day is near, don’t lie.

“It’s finally come,” I sigh.

Everyone is crying, they don’t want me to leave.

But what am I supposed to do? I have to be free.

I feel it now, my slowing heart,

I close my eyes; let my final sleep start…

What is this place? My body is gone.

This place is black, no life resides.

I wonder around, my soul mourning.

This isn’t right, where am I going?

I hear a sound, I stop to listen.

It’s something ghoulish, something hidden.

I turn to run, it’s blocking my vision.

Its breath is rotten, its teeth are gleaming.

It snaps its jaws, I cannot move.

So this is the end? No Heaven or Hell?

This is the end, no existence as well.

I prepare for the strike, but it does not come.

Instead there’s a screech, and a splatter of blood.

I look up to see my savior, but I am stricken down by
fright.

For there stands the thing we are all taught to fear, the
black cloaked figure of a nightmare.

Its scythe is blood stained, its red eyes glow.

It extends a bony hand, beckoning me to go.

I am terrified, something compels me to move.

It takes my hand, then everything is aglow.

What stands before me, a creature too beautiful for words.

It keeps my hand, guides me forward.

Then I understand, this is not the end.

The Reaper is not the Devil, the Reaper is our friend.

It leaves me at Heaven’s gates, says its goodbyes.

Don’t fear the Reaper, it is our guide.
