Her Glass Menagerie (Poem), by YourEyesMyWords Subscribe to rss feed for YourEyesMyWords

Crystal lining,
fall into place.
She closes her eyes,
as she covers her face.

Her heart bounces lightly,
as she always has her smile.
She wears a heart on her sleeve,
that is her simple style.

The gold threads fall in front of her face,
as she giggles and blushes innocently.
But she lies,
unaware,
of what is to be.

She is naive,
you can tell.
Because her heart had broke
as her glass menagerie fell.

A storm arises,
she is dead now.
Even though she is still breathing,
she still doesn't know how.

All she knew was love,
and love was all she was.
But the world isn't like that,
it's nothing like heaven from above.

The world is sadly stone,
and she was frail.
Which meant that if she fell,
she would break as her face turned now pale.

Her
   Glass
        Menagerie...

was all she now is.
Yet put her into the light,
and watch her sparkle.

Hold her tight,
and don't let her go.
Because if she goes,
then her story will lie untold.

The story,
of Her
      Glass
           Menagerie...
