Leaving You Behind (Poem), by YourEyesMyWords Subscribe to rss feed for YourEyesMyWords

The clock ticks by,
I lost the track of time.
Living in a dark haven,
The world is a black figure.
Pain is an emotion,
Hunger is meaningless.
When you start to break down,
The world leaves you behind.

The clock keeps ticking by,
I'm still losing track of time.
The sky closed it's eyes,
The world is falling down now.
Cuts and bruises are beautiful,
It is the only way to make the world see.

As the crowd is filled with laughter,
You dare me to throw myself off.
I won't!
You laugh too...
I'm condemned now and forever.

You took what was important to me,
and threw it away.
I trusted you deeply,
yet you tore me apart.
A prayer to God,
Every Night,
That I won't see light.
That is your life,
You make me watch,
Until i feel the need to condemn myself.

The clock ticks by,
I lost the track of time.
I can't see where I'm going,
The street signs are all written vaguely.
My head keeps on spinning,
I'm stuck in the past,
And at last!
You don't care...

The clock ticks by,
I lost my own track of time.
So I pull out my watch,
And I start walking onto the path less traveled by.
You're not there,
That's fine.

So
  Say
     Goodbye...
