Jail (Poem), by YourEyesMyWords Subscribe to rss feed for YourEyesMyWords

I'm in a jail,
with a wound that won't heal.
I can't seem to get out,
and there is no one here to hear me scream or shout.

And every time I'm with you,
I always feel blue.
I find it hard to breathe,
with you right next to me.

You keep me locked up inside,
I have lost all of my power and pride.
And then i have a frown on my face,
but you just curse me out for my nationality and race.

I can't be myself,
while you don't even know your own self.
Yet you walk around like a smarta**,
and then look me in the eye and speak just a bunch of
trash.

I thought you loved me,
Yet you won't let me free.
"You said together forever."
I now regret saying that to them instead of never.

I just can't stay with you;
we can't be together, us two.
Yet you threaten me with a beating and suicide,
and yet i had to now fall into your lies.

I'm losing myself,
I left my broken heart on your shelf.
I can't find my way out,
you locked me in so we wouldn't be apart.

I'm in a jail,
with a wound that won't heal.
I can't seem to get out,
and there is no one here to hear me scream or shout.
Please forgive me,
as I am not made of steal.
Don't look at me and pout.
I can't love you in this jail...
