“Dad, be comfortable and breathe slowly
Remember Him and thee words you think holy
Pray for all happiness worry for none
This is only way and certain for every one

My dad was breathing his last
His palpitation was very fast
He had all satisfaction on his face
There was not a single worry line to trace

He has lived his full inning
Now he is approaching beautiful evening
Soon night may take over in his dark lap
Nothing to be seen in life as gap

This is what may be called as death
The stoppage of all movements with breathe
No use of lying body to be kept at home
New home waited for permanent welcome

He was fully contended with whatever he did
He never tried to cheat any one or hid
He did it for welfare of the other people
As he was honest and very capable

Many people approach our home in late hours
He may be most of the time on tours
He will listen to the people and render the service
As he was social work many may now rush to us over his
demise

He has full smile on his face
He wanted to confined in me in any case
Everybody would depart in same way as dad
There was no point in becoming sad

Many a times he used to say
Never try to find new way
See the reasonability behind
Be reasonable every time and kind
I was too small to advice
He was all along very wise
His word had weight and respected
It was weighed and often corrected

I had observed him from close distance
I was now his future and he liked my presence
I was his trusted friend and lieutenant
He knew me well from time I was infant

I knew now he will be no more
He will be thing of past like vapor
He may be air borne to unite in heaven
Little thing of today and permanently gone

I watched him sinking deep
I wanted to feel badly and weep
I controlled it for the fear of being noticed
As I had loved dad and secretly promised

I inhaled with big thrust
It was all the more important and must
I had full regard, faith and trust
He did everything possible to entrust

I watched him go to distance land
He may find new berth and friends
The completely strange world and totally unknown
A permanent refuge for ordinary and well-known
