Sitting in the sun.
Sand between her toes.
THe sun beating down on her fragile skin,
She glows brighter than the sun.
And without a clue she catches his eyes.
Young, naive, and looking for a good time.

She could have any guy she wanted,
But this one guy,
There's something she sees.
Could it be the shine in his smile?
The sparkle in his eyes?

And him, he could steal the heart of any girl,
But there's just something about this one.
Could it be the way she walks?
The dimples the go with her soft smile?

But there's a twist in this little love story.
Both from completly different pasts.

Him.
He let's nothing bring him down.
He's been with plenty of girls,
But never thought anything of it.
So what's different about her?
Why now is he rethinking everything he once believed?

Her.
Betrayed and broken.
Everyone she ever trusted broke her.
She swears to herself she will never trust or love again.
So what's different about him?
Why now is she starting to finally open up?

Could it be they got too much sun?
Could it be the beauty of the waves that's making them see
everything so differently?
Or could it just be there want for adventure?
A chance to start over.
Her eyes tell of betrayal.
But he can see past her brown eyes and sees a heart of
gold.
His eyes tell of freedom.
But she can see past his green eyes and see's a heart that
wants love.

She seems invincible.
The perfect girl.
Who would hurt such an angel?
He's full of life.
The perfect boy?
Who wouldn't want to be in his arms?

The last day of summer.
The perfect night.
A picnic on the beach under the stars.
The clock strikes midnight,
And he seals the night with a kiss.

The passion in this kiss,
Well it tells a story all its own.
The perfect kiss.
COuld it be the beauty of the moon?
The mist of the water splashing on their legs?
She's gone before he can even snap back into reality.

Has this wonderful dream finally ended?

There's always been this weird connection between the stars
and goodbye.
For every star that explodes,
There's a paniful goodbye.
Beautiful in a way.
But scary in a sense.
Never knowing when things will end.
An everlasting pattern,
Of forevers and goodbyes.

Two days pass.
Not a call or even a text.
No reply, no nothing.
A heart breaking tragedy.
But wait. What is this?
Heart break?
Could it be?
Has this care free boy finally started to believe?

He misses her smile.
She misses his eyes.

She hasn't thought of anyone since.
20 unsent texts.
Fake smiles.
Her strong guard is breaking.
A tear streams down her cheek.

250 miles.
That's all that stands between their hearts.
1 week together.
That's all the time they needed.
Just 1 week.
What happened that week is indescribable.
"How could I let this happen?" He whishpers to himself.
"Why did I run?" She asks herself.

A Romeo and Juliet tragedy.
Disapproving families.
1 week? You can't possibly be in love.
Maybe not in love,
But this isn't lust.
Lust isn't what keeps them up all night.

Midnight strikes.
Both stand out gazing at the stars.
A shooting star is drawn in the sky.
1, 2, 3, MAKE A WISH.

A week passes.
She arrives home from the pool.
She sees a familiar silohuette on her porch.
She walks forward as a tear burns her cheek.
He wipes away her tears and whispers in her ear.

"I love you.
You're all I think about.
You're all I want."

Fingers intertwined.
They seal the night with a kiss.

This is adorable! I love the story and the passion and power in it. I absolutely love the part about the connection between stars and painful goodbyes. Really strong thoughts and words in that. Very well done and thank you for writing!
