little burny heart, by katy may Subscribe to rss feed for katy may

She feared it more than anything
That one day this would come
Choking on thoughts and holding back screams
confused at what she'd done
and yet he wallows in his own self pity
When she lye's still with her eyes getting gritty
When it's her own heart that’s imploded
Her whole world that s exploded, before her very eyes

An unimaginable pain in her chest, through her ribs
An attempt of connection through finger tips
But to no avail, her attempt was in vein
For there's no way of dealing or breathing through pain
Not this pain, this unimaginable pain
Not to measure nor count
Like rushes of blood in copious amounts
But not to compare, for what would she to?
For she's never felt something both boiling and new

This aching, this burning
The knots that keep churning
She imagines her learning to cope through the fire and the
smoke
But it's all just a haze as the hours and the days
Turn to weeks and delays have no meaning
A month is a month
May as well be an hour
There's no turning autumn leaves back into flowers
There’s no carving beating hearts out of stone
But it's still his stone, lifeless heart she calls home

For even if it doesn't beat, Doesn't make a sound
She’ll lie next to the lifeless stone until it comes
around
For in her empty shell there lies one once of hope
A crutch for which she leans upon in order just to cope
