For so long I held
Them all up so high
I had the ear to listen
And the shoulder to cry
May not have had answers
But they've known I care
That I love them and
Try my best to be there
For so long I supported
Lifted, listened, loved
Been the person to come to
When they needed hugged
I've wished I could take
Away all of their pain
All of their suffering
On to my own name
Years of all that weight
Years of helping and holding
I never thought being strong
Would be reason for folding
